The councilor of PP in the town hall of Valencia Marta Torrado has reminded ribbon and his government team that residence of athletes from Petxina remains closed after more than two years and without a project for the future, “a place of reference in the world of sport Valencian continues to be abandoned because neither Compromís nor PSOE know how to maintain a consolidated project”.
Torrado has made these statements after announcing the city council the extension of the CEAR of judo of Benimaclet with an investment of 600,000 euros. “Valencia has always been a benchmark in the world of sports and none of the existing facilities can be dispensed with, so the investment in Benimaclet is welcome, but they should recover benchmark and necessary sports spaces in the city such as the Petxina residence”.
The popular councilor has assured “that the contempt for this facility will end with the change of government after the elections since the Popular Party, when it becomes mayor, will rehabilitate and reopen the residence and execute the Benimaclet judo residence”, adding: “we must be realistic, they are not going to expand Benimaclet because it has been shown that they are not capable of executing the investments that they project and announce”.
High demand
The popular councilor recalled that “Petxina had a high demand, hosting high performance athletes and now due to the cessation of functions and the lack of vision of Compromís and PSPV they do not have this accommodation alternative ”. In this sense, he recalled that in the last year of the PP government were registered in this residence more 17.000 usoswhich were part of sports clubs and federations.
In this sense, he has described as shameful “that the facilities continue to be closed and not used following the deterioration because they have not even installed offices as announced, because all their management is like that, announcements that fall on deaf ears.”
Finally, the Popular Party has recalled “the closure of this residence for more than 2 years confirms the failure of this municipal government in the municipal sports field because the municipal swimming pools of Ayora and AbastosThere are 40 expired agreements with different swimming pools and sports facilities and they built mini-pools in Benimàmet and mini-sports facilities in Beniferri, a shame for a city like Valencia”.
