The Guanajuato Open is positioned as the best women’s tennis tournament in Mexico

Irapuato, Gto.- The most important women’s tennis tournament in the country, “Guanajuato Open” adopts new energy for its 2023 edition with an unprecedented prize pool, advance dates and the presence of the best-ranked tennis players from three continents.

The tournament is renewed, overcomes the adversity generated by the pandemic and promises to advance steadily to consolidate itself among the events with the greatest national and international projection in sports and economic matters.

This Thursday the Organizing Committee and the Sports Commission, CODE; They made the official presentation of the eighteenth edition of the Guanajuato Open, which by 2023 will take place from February 13 to 18 at its traditional headquarters, the Margarita Golf Club in the city of Irapuato.

In 2023, the tournament will have a prize pool of $60,000 and will bring together more than 50 tennis players among the best ranked tennis players from Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Japan, the United States and, of course, Mexico, with participation in doubles and singles modalities. .

During the presentation of the tournament, the General Director of CODE, Marco Heroldo Gaxiola Romo, recognized the impact of this event on sport and the synergy between the Eastern Government and the Organizing Committee that have made its organization and promotion possible.

Guanajuato Open, which is part of the women’s world circuit of the International Tennis Federation, abruptly suspended its 2020 edition as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The following editions were developed in circumstances still limited by isolation.

For 2023, new strategies were established with the purpose of strengthening women’s tennis, advancement of dates and a larger prize pool and greater dissemination to attract women’s tennis figures.

The names of the tennis players who will be part of this international event will be published soon.
