Second round

Cup day on Wednesday without surprises, with Rayo Vallecano as the only team that could not beat their rival in 90 minutes

New day of the second round of the Copa del Rey, with another five First Division teams in contention. A new opportunity for the Cinderella Cups to surprise the League teams after the full victories this Tuesday. However, we have come across another plenary session of the greats, who in general terms are clearly solving the matches.

Rayo Vallecano raised the curtain on this Copa del Rey matchday on Wednesday, and did so by visiting Atlético Saguntino, a Valencian team. A very tight game that ended up being decided from the penalty spot after 120 goalless minutes. Two failures by the Saguntos put the tie on a plate for a Rayo Vallecano who won 1-3.

For their part, Real Sociedad and Osasuna quickly got their matches back on track in the first half. Imanol Alguacil’s men went into half-time with a three-goal advantage against Coria, and the match finally ended with a resounding 0-5.

The rojillos did the same and sealed the match on the half hour mark against Arnedo, who scored his particular goal of honor in the second half. Valladolid also won comfortably, but had to come back from Arenas de Getxo’s opening goal in the 29th minute, to end up winning 1-5.

Finally, Sevilla, now without Isco in the squad, easily surpassed Juventud Torremolinos by 0-3. This Thursday, turn for Girona, Celta and Atlético de Madrid in the last day of this second round of the Copa del Rey.

Results:

Youth Torremolinos 0-3 Sevilla

Arenas de Getxo 1-5 Valladolid

Arnedo 1-3 Health

Coria 0-5 Real Sociedad

Atlético Saguntino 0-0 Rayo Vallecano (1-3 on penalties)
