The first urban golf course in Córdoba opens its doors

After a process of more than a decade, the Parador de Córdoba has finally seen its dream come true of implementing its range of activities and experiences with golf facilities. A project that constitutes the first urban field of the Caliphate city dedicated to the practice of this sport discipline. This Friday Arruzafa Golf was officially inaugurated, the first pitch and putt of nine holes in the province of Córdoba, an amateur sport derived from golf also known as short game and where the length of the hole is up to 120 meters. Paradores de Turismo has promoted this installation that the promoter company Golf Córdoba SL has materialized after winning the last contest called. A performance in which it has invested half a million euros and which will allow it to exploit this field under a lease for the next 19 years.

The project was born “with the aim of popularizing golf in Córdoba while improving the mastery of the short game, precision and ball control, of those who already practice it, without having to leave the city, in a preferential enclave as is the Parador de la Arruzafa itself”, according to the company itself in a press release. Built on a plot of 21,363 square meters – some land adjacent to the Parador located after the gardens exchanged to the City Council in 2009 with the condition that it be used as a sports area -, Arruzafa Golf has a nine-hole Pitch and Putt course Approved by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. It also has a practice tee and the corresponding areas of aproach and of putting green, “promoting with these facilities the knowledge, initiation, practice and improvement of golf.” Facilities designed with respect for the environment and its sustainability.

The main activity of Arruzafa Golf will be its golf school which, although for all ages, will place the main emphasis on the children’s school, destined to become a hotbed of little golfers.
