Sports high school students.

Since September, the Désiré Nisard high school sports association has resumed intensive training. This year, the graduates meet every day of the week to practice physical activities with the Châtillon-sur-Seine school. A new season still rich in events and objectives to come for Team LDN. Currently, the numbers are up from the previous three seasons with 90 members. The action plan, as far as activities are concerned, is wide and varied so that each high school student can discover and improve in the sports of their choice: cross-country, handball, badminton, duathlon, run and bike, mountain biking, running orienteering, pony riding, multisport raid, weight training, laser run… Training takes place in the evenings and on Wednesday afternoons with the watchword “the pleasure of practicing together and progressing together”.

Of course, there are also objectives that are still just as varied at the departmental, regional and national level. In terms of results in the establishment category since the start of the school year, the junior boys’ handball players have beaten the Anna Judic high school in Semur-en-Auxois and are qualified to play in the departmental final phase. In badminton, the activity is relaunching but it will still take time for young people to gain experience against the Anna Judic high school. In perspective the departmental championship, but it will undoubtedly be difficult to go higher. Regarding run and bike and cross-country, students in the establishment category are placed between 8th and the 12th regional place. Note the victory of junior Félicien Siri in cross-country in Dijon.

The most eloquent results for the moment are to be credited to the Section Sportive Raid Multisports de Nature, created at the Lycée Désiré Nisard 5 years ago. At present, it is made up of fourteen young athletes in general and professional education recruited on sports and school tests and coming from the Dijon academy and beyond. The 2021/22 sporting season was very satisfying and concluded at the beginning of July with a national podium in the French youth Raid FFTriathlon championship, Louis Ratton and Bastien Darpentigny taking third in the cadet category. “The 2022/23 season is marked by a strong renewal of the workforce and greater development in federal competitions, in order to give more visibility and legitimacy to our sports section” explains professor and coach Franck Ratton.

The first results are very good! In run and bike, two titles in the excellence category should be noted at the UNSS departmental championship in Venarey-les-Laumes and then at the UNSS regional championship at La Machine in Nièvre. “In this discipline, we are waiting for a qualification for the French championship which will take place in March in the Loiret” confides Franck Ratton.

In cross-country, the Châtillonnais high school students also distinguished themselves individually with many places in the top eight for both girls and boys. But also collectively by placing two teams on the podium of the departmental championship: vice-champion UNSS Excellence just behind the Jean-Marc Boivin high school in Chevigny and third place in this category at the Campus in Dijon.

Apart from school competitions and thanks to several solid partnerships with local sports clubs such as ECRAC (Athlétisme Châtillon) and MACTRI 21 (Triathlon Montbard), high school students have distinguished themselves in various cross-country races such as the Fuchey National Cross d’Arnay-le-Duc with Margot Ratton 14th youngest and Gaspard Trocq Horde 17th cadet. At the cross of the TOS in Troyes in the Aube, Hugo Simon 5th cadet, Bastien Darpentigny 6th cadet, Margot Ratton 2th youngest and Elisa Collombier Pochard 3th younger. At the Riceys trail in Aube, Bastien Darpentigny first cadet and Thomas Faure second. We should also note the excellent results on the Challenge Bourgogne Franche-Comté of run and bike FFTri where the doubles Louis Ratton and Gaspard Trocq Horde in cadets/Juniors boys as well as on Margot Ratton and Elisa Collombier Pochard in cadet girls play the first places, mid-term verdict. March 2023.

“Our sports association can rely on the experience of partner clubs, the EPS option and the Raid sports section to promote the Châtillonnais in many disciplines, in particular outdoor activities” rightly welcomes Franck Ratton.
