The Royal Spanish Tennis Federation organized yesterday afternoon, in the city of Valladolid, an exhibition match between the professional ATP players Feliciano López and Roberto Carballés within their program of the Spanish National Tennis Festival. After the meeting held in the “Pilar Fernández Valderrama” Municipal Pavilion, prizes and recognitions were awarded.
The National Amateur Circuit organized by the RFET has held a total of 150 tests throughout the national territory throughout the 2022 season, where a total of 9,000 players have participated. Towns such as Seville, Granada, Valencia, Castellón, Toledo, Oviedo, Santander or Las Palmas have hosted tournaments in this competition aimed at amateur athletes in all categories.
The Ceuta Tennis Federation, organizer during this season of four tests of the Amateur Circuit, was designated among all the organizing localities as the best in organizing tournaments of the National Circuit. Feliciano López, one of the most successful players in Spanish tennis, presented the award to Juan José García Jaén, member of the federation.
The event was chaired by the president of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Díaz, the Councilor for Sports and Citizen Participation of Valladolid, Alberto Busto, the president of the Castilla y León Tennis Federation, José Luis Orujo, and the director General of Sports of the Junta de Castilla-León, Enrique Sánchez-Guijo.
