GUADALAJARA, Jal., December 10, 2022.- Guadalajara will again host the APT Master Final, as Fabrice Pastor, president of the APT Tour, announced this Saturday.

In a press conference, Pastor, accompanied by Gustavo Santoscoy García, director of the contest, and Omar Villavicencio, director of the Mexican Padel Federation (Femepa), highlighted the advantage of playing in venues that have already organized tennis tournaments.

“The facilities couldn’t be better, Gustavo’s (Santoscoy García) team is difficult to match, we are happy, he played tennis first and that gives a different preparation, the players are happy and I feel at home. Tennis stadiums provide everything necessary for a racket sport to succeed, ”, he commented.

Immediately, Santoscoy García confirmed that next year the Pan American Tennis Center will once again host the APT Master Final, “for Guadalajara, the goal is for it to become part of the calendar for many years, for this city to become a place of both tennis like paddle tennis ”, he stressed.

Pastor commented that for new exponents of this sport to emerge in Mexico, the base is very important, and sometimes having strength in this area is complicated, due to the lack of coaches, so the APT Tour will focus on providing training for coaches. to help grow the specialty.

In this sense, Santoscoy García mentioned “that is why it is important to bring different professional tournaments to the country, because that way young people realize that there is another level, that they can make a living from it, that they can be professionals and become the greatest exponents ”, he referred.

He recalled that the APT Tour calendar this year had one event in Asunción, Paraguay, and four in Mexico, “and from what we can anticipate, next year we will see more events in Latin America, which eventually points to having a number of tournaments the same as in Europe”.

He added that, without a doubt, paddle tennis is a project that should be committed to, which is why they are analyzing the possibility that the Pan American Tennis Center could also have courts for practicing this sport, apart from tennis.

“It would be necessary to see in terms of infrastructure how to carry out a project where it is feasible to have paddle tennis courts and tennis courts at the same time. We do believe that one of the main factors is that first people play paddle tennis and then come to see it”, considered Santoscoy García.
