The groups have not yet been officially presented, but what is certain is that the 2023 Baseball Champions Cup will be hosted in the Netherlands next June. They will host it l’HCAW Bussum and Pirates Amsterdamwith the former having surprisingly won the Dutch title in the year that is ending.
There are participants for Italy Fortitudo baseball and San Marinowhich since 2018 after being relegated to Poule B has decided to “play” as an Italian instead of climbing the slope of the European competition with the San Marino freshman.
This at least on paper, because according to the Corriere di Romagna, the Titans could give up their participation. The high cost, which will increase this season because logistics costs should also weigh on the clubs and not on the organization and format, with matches that are too close together, even played at times when there cannot be a suitable crowd, are the critical points highlighted by the Romagna club which seems intent on not participating, but which has not yet made a sure decision.
Everything seems to be postponed to February, when there will be the European Federal Council in which each protagonist will put their ideas on the table and sum up. In the event that San Marino really renounces participation, its place will be taken from Parma, holder of the Cup and club that has lifted it the most times ever.
