Fabio BasileJudo champion, returned to very true to talk about a very sensitive topic: the disappearance of his brother Michael, 32, which occurred only a year ago. An immense pain, which Basile wanted to share with Silvia Toffaninwho struggled throughout the interview, between red eyes, tears and even a few hiccups.
After the initial shock, the judo champion found the strength to carry on for his brother too: “He was a warrior, he won many battles in his life”. The most difficult moment of the interview was when the clip also dedicated to her brother was broadcast: Fabio was moved and Toffanin sobbed. “You can’t die so young, at 32,” said the landlady. “You have to turn pain into petrol – Basile confided – if there is another world, the only way to make my brother and my family proud is to get back up and win my battles. Both in judo and in life”.
A year later, the causes of his brother’s death are still not known: “We still don’t know what happened, a year has passed. I think his heart stopped. He was tired, I don’t know how to explain… Nothing is known. When I know I will breathe a sigh of relief. Now I want to take those eyes to the top step of the podium in a judo competition. I promised and I will, I am sure he will be proud of me and celebrate ”.
