South Florida gymnastics group teams up with Santa to give tennis gifts to young athletes

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – This year, Santa Claus is breaking a sweat, teaming up with fitness instructors and local organizations to hand out hundreds of pairs of sneakers to young athletes in need.

Fitness group (@JustMindYourFitness) got into the holiday spirit with a different kind of charity.

“Just Mind Your Fitness” donated more than 250 pairs of sneakers collected at the Northwest Boys & Girls Cluba few days before Christmas.

Head coach Ameri Mathieu organized a sneaker-instead-toy drive called “Shoelaces for the Little Ones” to bring a little health to the holidays.

It was a way to bring the community together, he said, filling an important need and focusing on health.

Just Mind Your Fitnessalong with friends from Memorial Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicinecollected shoes from residents in Miramar and Pembroke Pines.
