ASSUMPTION.- Team Paraguay achieved its absolute record not only in medals but in sports that reached the top of the South American podium this time with a total of 30 medals for our school athletes.
The first to get on the podium were the basketball boys in third place after beating Bolivia 78-49, adding one more medal to the national delegation in the Games.
The women’s basketball team won the silver medal in a tough match against their Venezuelan peers during the South American competitions.
The Handball girls were golden as the athletes won the gold medal against the Brazilian team, who they won 24-22 in a close match that ended up consecrating the Guarani with all the support of their audience in the stands.
In addition, they celebrated the first historic floor volleyball medal in some South Americans for #TeamParaguay. It is the first time that a national team has won a medal and this time it was bronze, leading the country to the podium among the best in South America.
The Paraguayan men’s Handball boys obtained their silver medal when they faced #Uruguay at the Games in Asunción.
Mission accomplished said the Paraguayan Chess who won two individual gold medals and a silver medal for the country’s team.
Paraguay also added one more medal in the Asu2022 Schools. Our boys from the Albirroja de Futsal climbed to second place on the podium and took over the silver medal. Team Paraguay added one more medal in the South Americans. Our female Albirroja climbed to third place on the podium and took over the bronze medal.
Team Paraguay established itself in these games with 30 medals in sports such as adapted athletics, futsal, swimming, judo, table tennis, floor volleyball, handball, basketball and chess for both women and men. The seedbed of athletes that could be seen during these days of competitions give a clear sign that Paraguayan sport will leave its mark on sports history.
