South African Open: Thriston Lawrence still in the lead, Clément Sordet 3rd

Another stormy day in South Africa. A week after a Joburg Open interrupted many times, it is this time the National Open which is paying the price for the vagaries of the weather. The 2nd round was interrupted Friday afternoon and will resume Saturday morning at 7 a.m.

Half of the field still had time to complete its second round and Thursday’s leader continues at the same pace. Author of a 67, Thriston Lawrence now points to -13, two shots ahead of his compatriot Ockie Strydom and his nice 63 (Blair Atholl course record).

Sordet, premier Français

In 3rd place, we find Clément Sordet and his 66. In -10, the Niçois shares 3rd place with the amateur springbok Christian Maas (65). This provisional top 5 also includes the Swede Jens Fahrbring, only 5th in -9 (70).

Among the other French people who were able to complete their second round, Romain Langasque has a second consecutive 71. In -2, he shares 57th place with Adrien Saddier (69). Further, Robin Sciot-Siegrist should probably miss the cut, with his 74 on Friday (102nd, +1).
