Several changes are coming in the Titans of Barranquilla

Success is built day after day. That is the premise of the Titanes de Barranquilla who, once again, were highlighted by the Association of Sports Journalists of the Atlantic (Acord Atlántico), in the Combarranquilla Country, for their excellent work in national or international basketball.

With an honorable mention for being a model institution in the year, along with Caimanes, and having the leader of the year, along with President Roberto Char (Caimanes), the currambera squad was honored, this Tuesday, by the city’s journalistic union .

EL HERALDO took the opportunity to chat one-on-one with Alberto Caparroso, president of the Titanes, about what this year was like and the challenges that the current Colombian champions will face in the future.

“We want more. We have proposed from the first day to be able to give Colombia an international title. It has not been easy. We were very close to reaching the final in the recent South American League, but we couldn’t. This implies having self-criticism and continuing to work. We think it’s possible,” she mentioned initially.

The titanic top leader did not miss the moment to talk about the future challenge they will have as a manager, knowing that several of the players, who made a difference this season, have already emigrated to different South American and international teams.

“After the international competition, Andrés Ibarguen went to Uruguay, Soren De Luque stayed playing in Argentina and Tonny Trocha was transferred to Asian basketball. All of them from the coast that are crossing borders. Our foreigners have already been confirmed in their respective teams. Rebuilding Titans after a successful foundation in recent years will be very difficult. Not being able to count on several of our figures is going to be quite a big challenge. However, that is what we are looking for, that our players go out to eat the world. We will monitor Atlantic players, we will continue to increase the number of Atlanticians in the squad”, the manager can clarify.

Finally, Alberto Caparroso is looking forward to a possible participation of Titanes in the Champions League of the Americas, the most important sports competition on the continent. However, if they do not show up, they already have a guaranteed place in the traditional South American League, where this season they finished third.

“We want to play in the Champions League. We depend on that competition being expanded to 16 teams so that Colombia and Venezuela can be part of it. If it doesn’t happen, we will be confirmed in the South American League. We are the team called to face these international challenges”, he concluded.
