Reserve Ronaldo in Portugal vs Switzerland

Cristiano Ronaldo sat on the bench in the game Portugal vs Switzerland in round of 16 World Cup 2022. The following is the lineup for Portugal vs Switzerland.

Ronaldo was not played as a starter and his position was replaced by Goncalo Ramos. The Benfica striker will partner Joao Felix on the front lines.

Reporting from Record, the decision to reserve Ronaldo was taken by coach Fernando Santos on Tuesday (6/12). Santos was not happy with Ronaldo’s angry behavior when he was taken off in the second half.

Santos’ decision to reserve Ronaldo made the former Manchester United player have to be tolerant. The 37-year-old player can only see the struggles of his teammates from the bench.

Ramos and Felix up front will have the support of Bruno Fernandes as an attacking midfielder. The other three midfielders in the 4-3-1-2 formation were filled by Otavio, William Carvalho and Bernardo Silva.

Changes also occurred at right-back with Diogo Dalot playing from the first minute. Dalot accompanies Pepe, Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro.

Meanwhile, Switzerland is relying on Breel Embolo as the spearhead. He will be supported by Xherdan Shaqiri as one of the creators in midfield.

At the heart of the defense of two players who play in the Premier League, Manuel Akanji and Fabian Schar will fortify goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
