Red Bull Racing has subtly made mincemeat of the competition with a Christmas post on social media. The cartoon shows, among other things, a Mercedes and Ferrari in a box with ‘unwanted stuff’.
After a busy and fraught 2021, in which Red Bull fought hard battles with the Mercedes team, the question was how the flag would hang with the Austrians towards the new Formula 1 era, in which aerodynamic changes are central. For the Milton Keynes formation, the question was whether there was still enough time and space in the intensive 2021 season to hit the nail on the head with regard to the new era in the premier class. After a rough start, however, it turned out that the RB18 was a champion-worthy car and that title was eventually taken relatively easily.

However, it was not a flawless year, because the Austrian team had to deal with, among other things, the whole hassle surrounding the budget cap in 2021. Christian Horner’s team had gone over the limit and that ultimately cost them a fine and a loss of time in the wind tunnel. They can now also see the fun in Milton Keynes themselves, looking at the Christmas picture that Red Bull has put on Twitter. Among other things, reference is made to the exceeding of the budget cap and there is a subtle sneer at Ferrari and Mercedes.
