Qatar will turn Messi’s room into a ‘mini museum’ during the World Cup

The University of Qatar announced on Tuesday that it will turn into a ‘mini museum’ the room where the Argentine star lived Lionel Messi during the 2022 World Cup, which the Albiceleste ended up winning.

The Qatari state news agency QNA published on its Twitter account that Messi’s room in the university residence of the most important university in Qatar It will not receive any more guests, and will keep everything that the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) player left in it as a small museum for students and visitors to the country.

The university facilities were used by Liverpool during their participation in the 2019 Club World Cup for its variety of pitches, gyms and swimming pools, and a stadium for training; reasons that justify the choice of university residence by the Argentine team instead of opting for the luxurious hotels in Qatar.

Hitmi al Hitmi, the director of communication and public relations at Qatar University, said in an interview with the Qatari newspaper Al Sharq that The people in charge made many improvements to the rooms so that they have everything the players need.

According to Al Hitmi, they are houses of “5 stars and very different from residences in other countries”, and detailed that only some services were added so that “the rooms meet FIFA standards.”

“The room of the Argentine national team player Lionel Messi will remain unchanged and will remain available for visits only and not for residencesince it will serve as a small museum that will contain all of Messi’s belongings and will be a legacy for students and future generations and a witness to the great achievements that Messi has achieved during the World Cup,” Al Hitmi added.

Argentina was crowned in the World Cup in Qatar 2022 for the third time in its history -after the titles of 1978 and 1986-, achieving Messi the only great trophy that he needed to conquer in his career.
