PSG consolidates its first place by winning in Porto in the Champions League

Paris SG consolidated its first place in Group A of the Champions League by winning without forcing 35 to 33 (half-time: 16-17) in Porto, during the 9th day, a success which brings it a little closer more quarter-finals. Already victorious over the Portuguese club at home a month ago (32-30), PSG did it again by applying the same recipe: not madness but seriousness, with a final victory as narrow as it is logical. After a first period at a slow trot, Nikola Karabatic’s teammates accelerated. Led in particular by their Polish international Kamil Syprzak, author of nine goals, they took up to four units in advance (28-24), before managing against an opponent stuck in last place in the group despite a first point taken on the previous day in Magdeburg.

Thanks to this new victory, PSG have 16 points and put pressure on the Hungarians of Veszprem, second (13 points), who receive the Poles of Plock on Thursday. The Germans of Magdeburg, Wednesday winners of the Danes of Gudme (36-34), occupy third place (12 points) and will travel to Paris on the next day, December 14. The first two of the group will be directly qualified for the quarter-finals.
