Posthumous tribute to a Cuban judo master

On the morning of this Wednesday, the Cuban sports movement and the people in general said goodbye in the Sports City to the outstanding judo coach Ronaldo Veitía, who died last Monday.

The highest authorities of Cuban sports arrived to the tribute and floral offerings were sent on behalf of Army General Raúl Castro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, publishes Cubadebate.

They guarded their family ashes, sports glories, coaches and forever friends.

Veitía passed away last Monday night at the age of 75, after battling diabetes and various cardiovascular events for months. That day he left for eternity one of the best judo masters in the history of the sport.

In his legacy, beyond the dozens of medals and Olympic and world titles, the dedication to his iron women and his vocation as an educator and trainer of high-performance athletes will remain forever, PL refers.

Exalted to the Hall of Fame of the International Judo Federation for his supernatural feats, Veitía formed demigoddesses of the magnitude of Idalys Ortiz, Estela Rodríguez, Legna Verdecia, Amarilis Savón, Daima Beltrán, Driulis González, Odalys Revé, Yurisleidis Lupetey and many others, many more.
