Piacenza ko, Pro Patria wins at Garilli and bad luck (0-1)

PIACENZA – PRO PATRIA 0-1 (FINAL) Castelli in the 60th minute

A film already seen too many times this season. Piacenza defeated at the Garilli more by bad luck than by the opponents of Pro Patria, who in any case were good at taking advantage of the only chance to score during the match. Castelli in the 60th minute pierced Rinaldi with a diagonal after a counter-attack action. And the red and white reaction that took place was not enough to straighten the match.

THE MATCH – Without the absent Cesarini, Cosenza and Munari, Scazzola must make a virtue of necessity by lining up Morra and Rossetti in front, Capoferri, Nelli and Persia in midfield, while Rinaldi goes in goal. Parisi returns to the bench after a long injury break. The first half went by without emotion and on the tracks of a game essentially blocked in midfield, some attempts to threaten the Lombard goal came from set pieces, but it was really hard to write something down in the notebook. In the final Nelli gets hurt and in fact at the start of the second half he is replaced by Frosinini. To break the balance, Scazzola tries the Lamesta card which turns out to be spot on, the most dangerous actions always pass from the red and white winger who manages to jump the man and put balls into the area, even if often nobody manages to take advantage of it. In the 55th minute Morra has the first real goal opportunity, his shot is deflected for a corner. It seems like a positive omen for Piacenza, but in the 60th minute the most classic of counter-attacks arrives, Castelli finds himself face to face with Rinaldi and scores him with a diagonal shot. A blow for the red and whites, who however find the reaction. In four minutes the pressure translates into three occasions and as many corners, first Morra, then Nava and Lamesta engage the bustocco goalkeeper. In the end, the most sensational chance for an equalizer: more action from a corner and the ball rolls over Nava’s feet who strikes in the direction of the goal, but the post rejects the ball. It is the sign that bad luck still has the upper hand. Nervous final match with other yellow cards drawn by the referee. Persia tries again from afar, ball out. He still like ko. In the next round, the red and white are expected from the away game on the Vicenza field.

More heavy points up for grabs for Piacenza, who face Pro Patria at the Garilli on Sunday afternoon (kick-off at 2.30pm). The knockout on the field of Pro Sesto in the last round, after the success against Triestina, dropped the red and white back to the last place in the standings, reached by the halberds on 12 points. The one with Pro Patria promises to be a far from simple challenge: the Lombards, led on the bench by Jorge Vargas, are in the playoff area with 25 points and in the last two games they have stopped Pordenone on a draw and defeated Lecco. Heavy absences for Scazzola, who will have to give up the disqualified Munari and Cosenza; not even Cesarini and Palazzolo will be in the match, while Parisi returns after the injury and could start from the first minute.
