Peru already has 6 gold medals in the Games…

Steadily. The Peruvian delegation continues to stand out in the XXVI South American School Games 2022, which are held in Asunción, Paraguay, and on this Thursday, December 8, it added 14 more medals, for a total of 26 in the general table.

Two gold medals stood out among the medals. The first thanks to the women’s 5×80 meter relay team, who did a time of 50s 20c, and left Chile (50s 93c) and Venezuela (51s 18c) behind.

The second was won by Noelia Colque in individual table tennis, after beating Constanza Orellana from Chile in the final, by a score of 3-0.

There were also 4 silver medals. One through the men’s 5 x 80m relay team, then another by Benjamin Burnside (40kg judo), as well as Yasmín Silva in the 50-meter swimming butterfly, and in the women’s 4×50 freestyle swimming relay.

While in bronze, our representatives stood on the podium 8 times. Jorge Torres was the first in Discus Throw, followed by Rocío Álvarez in Long Jump in Intellectual Disability Athletics, and the judokas Katty Chota (36kg), Ashlee López (40kg), Marco López (44kg), Mathias Ortiz (48kg) and Luana Murillo (48kg).

For her part, Yasmín Silva added her second individual medal, being third in the 200-meter medley swim.
