Paulino Puerto: “The team has experienced growth both in terms of play and results”

The coach of the Lasallian team valued the first round carried out by his team, considering the additions of Patricia Benet and Sofie Tryggedsson to be very important in improving theirs, which have given “a definitive boost”.

The Melilla Sport Capital La Salle coach, Paulino Puerto, began by assessing the first round that had just ended, which he described as “atypical”, given that “the start of the season was very complex, due to “the delay in the arrival of the foreign players, who are the base of the squad, due to bureaucratic problems”.

Not in vain, as he recalled, “practically all of them joined for the start of the second day, which made the team see itself diminished, in terms of planning, collective play, connections and those situations that the preseason gives you, in addition of course the physical aspect, since they are not at the same level as the national ones to face the first round”, he stressed.

All these problems, together with the injury to Aminata Traoré and the physical discomfort of Sarah Imovbioh, including a sprained ankle, complicated “the inside game”, and without forgetting the important departure of Conchi Satorre. Thus, and summarizing the Lasallian coach, “the first month was very complicated”, but the positive thing is that “the team never fell apart and, despite the fact that the results were negative for about two months, each time I was getting stronger and with a greater union ”.

The additions of Patricia Benet and Sofie Tryggedsson also gave, in his opinion, “a definitive boost” so that the Melillans in the last stretch of the league this year won three of the five games played and competed face to face in the two others.
In the same way, he emphasized that this is the first participation of MSC La Salle in the Challenge League, with what that entails, but even so “at the moment in which the team has been fairly complete, it has experienced growth both level of play as well as results”, he pointed out.

Already thinking about the second round, Paulino Puerto assured that they will try to “give their best” to “continue in the positive dynamics”, winning games and presenting a battle, as in this section of the championship, against such strong rivals -the first three classified – Like the leader, Joventut or Zamora, the latter group that the Melilla team defeated. “The performance has been very good and optimal, so we must continue in this way, and more taking into account that “the calendar will be more benevolent, with more clashes at home than away”, so having fewer trips “The accumulated fatigue will also be less.”

With regard to the objectives that are set, they are “to save the category as soon as possible and to be able to have a fairly placid end of the course”, although he warns that to achieve them they will have to “work hard”.

To finish, the Lasallian coach does not rule out the possibility of undertaking some more signing. In this regard, he commented that “the club works tirelessly to strengthen the squad in the positions that are necessary,” he said.
