Louis van Gaal, Netherlands Bonds coach, once again caused a laugh ahead of the World Cup quarter-finals against Argentina. Asked about a critical statement by Argentinian Angel Di Maria, the coach had a humorous dialogue with his striker Memphis Depay, who was sitting next to him, at Thursday’s press conference. “I’m very sorry that Angel Di María once said that I was the worst coach he’s ever had,” said van Gaal: “Here next to me is Memphis. During his time at Manchester United, van Gaal had coached Di Maria and Depay and once failed to consider the latter for an FA Cup final. “It’s not nice, but believe me: a coach doesn’t do it without reason.
