The local councilor stressed that this programming aims to “flood magic” every corner of Úbeda and citizens can live unforgettable and endearing moments, with their family and friends.

This program, which includes more than 150 proposals for all audiences, is the result of the collaboration of associations, groups, clubs, centers, foundations and companies with the Úbeda City Council, and its intention is to attract the attention of the city’s residents and the environment, as well as people who come from outside. “We want you to enjoy Úbeda, its activities and its small and medium businesses,” he said.

Lightning

One of the attractions of each year is usually the extraordinary Christmas lighting, which in this edition has already won the recognition of the citizens. “We have opted, once again, for incorporating innovative elements, some already owned by the City Council,” Olivares pointed out, adding that new streets in neighborhoods have been illuminated and that consumption will be reduced by 20%, by controlling the lighting schedule and taking into account the efficient characteristics of the 1.2 million led points that illuminate the city.

Culture is an important piece in this Christmas program, positioning Úbeda, once again, as the cultural capital of the province, also during these very important holidays. Thus, Olivares stressed that citizens will be able to enjoy interesting and diverse exhibitions, which address such diverse topics as ‘The history of the Vespa in Spain’, ‘Art in 16th century engravings’, ‘Barbie: cinema and fashion’, the Caja Rural Foundation Photography Contest or ‘El Prado en las calles’.

Music will also be the protagonist thanks to the performances included in the Úbeda and Baeza Early Music Festival, the live music show and light projections organized by the Tubba Association and the Alquimia Musicae Foundation, the different musicals (‘El Rey León’ or ‘Dumbo’), the Mocedades concert with the Agrupación Musical Ubetense, the zambombadas and flamenco recitals or the live musical entertainment in the commercial streets.

This programming, as the ubetense councilor highlighted, is designed for all ages. Thus, you can find activities, workshops and shows aimed at children, youth and older audiences, with the idea that everyone enjoys this Christmas to the fullest and find proposals to their liking and in which to participate.

One more year, he also highlighted, it has opted to grow in balance, and for this reason this program also includes activities in the neighborhoods and districts of the city. Likewise, he described it as important to offer services in addition to activities this Christmas. For example, to promote the reconciliation of work and family life during school holidays. In this way, an urban and Christmas camp is contemplated, which will take place from December 23 to January 5, from nine in the morning to two in the afternoon and which will later be presented to the public.
