Mercato: Bayern look to PSG to replace Neuer

In search of a new goalkeeper after the serious injury of Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich are looking to France. After studying the return of Alexander Nbel, on loan to AS Monaco, the German club is thinking of Parisian Keylor Navas.

Neuer is out until the end of the season

Big club is looking for goalkeeper. Due to the absence for several months of Manuel Neuer, who fractured his right leg while on ski vacation after the elimination of Germany in the 2022 World Cup, Bayern Munich is looking on the recruitment of a new goalkeeper for the rest of the season.

Of course, we will think about it calmly , told the president of the Roten, Oliver Kahn, to Kicker magazine. He knows it: to aim for the title in the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the German Cup, the substitute goalkeepers Sven Ulreich (34 years old) and Johannes Schenk (19 years old) are a bit light. The Rekordmeister is therefore looking for another solution that will give him more certainty.

The options studied by Bayern

The first option studied by the German champion was to repatriate Alexander Nbel, currently ready for a second season at AS Monaco, but there are many obstacles. The Principality club have no intention of parting with their last bulwark as they battle for the Ligue 1 podium and have European ambitions ahead of their Europa League Round of 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen. In addition, the 26-year-old goalkeeper is not thrilled with a collaboration with Bayern goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic due to a complicated relationship.

A return of Nbel to Bavaria this winter therefore seems unlikely. The leader of the Bundesliga thinks of other options and Kicker evokes the track Dominik Livakovic (27), the goalkeeper of Dinamo Zagreb who achieves a very good World Cup with Croatia, semi-finalist against Argentina on Tuesday. But another name holds a little more attention: that of Keylor Navas (35 years old).

Navas, why it’s complicated for Bayern

Number 2 at Paris Saint-Germain behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Costa Rican hasn’t played a single minute in the French capital this season. The former Madrid player could therefore want to leave to find some playing time, and his performance with his selection in Qatar, despite being eliminated in the group stage, proved that he was still an excellent goalkeeper. But a question arises for Bayern: will PSG agree to strengthen its future opponent in the knockout stages of the Champions League? Not sure…
