Liberec is losing a star. Van Buren is heading back to Slavia

With his performances in the autumn, Mick van Buren talked about returning to Eden, where his contract expires at the end of June. Although after the last match against Olomouc in the round of 16 of the domestic cup at the end of November, he still assumed that he would stay on loan under Ještěd in the spring as well.

“I haven’t heard from Slavia, I think I’ll be in Liberec. I am very glad to be here. I’ve said it many times. It will probably be the best for me, because now it’s working and I’m scoring goals, the team is working,” he said after the best half-year of his career, when he scored a dozen goals for North Bohemia.

“I’m probably in the best shape of my life. In Denmark, I also scored ten goals in half of the season, but now I’m older and have more experience. I now play in attack, whereas before in České Budějovice I played more on the wing or as a playmaker. I also played well, but I didn’t have the numbers like now,” he commented on his style.

Now it seems that the North Bohemians will lose their key player and he will head back to Eden after a vacation in the USA and on the Dutch island of Curacao. Van Buren has been a Slavia player since 2016. During that time, however, he was a guest at three different clubs: Den Haag, České Budějovice and finally Liberec. He played a total of 99 games for the Sišivane, scoring 16 goals and making 10 assists.

Stopper Maksym Talovjerov, who also visited U Nisa in the fall, has already taken part in the first part of Slavia’s winter training. Currently, the second team of the league was already strengthened in December by midfielder Petr Hronek from Bohemians 1905, who signed a contract with the staples until 2025. On the other hand, striker Jan Matoušek from Slavia, who also visited Liberec, headed to Ďolíček.
