Kladno – K. Vary 4:1, the Knights took full advantage at home, but still remain at the bottom of the table

The Central Bohemians, in whose goal area Brízgal got priority over Bow today, took the lead in the fourth minute. Indrák won the puck in the corner of the rink, found Brodecký patrolling in front of the goal area, and he was able to send it behind the visiting goalie Lukeš.

It could have been equalized in the sixth minute. Filip sent a too-slow pass to the stretched Cibulskis on the offensive blue line, Chalupa went solo right away, but Brízgal held his teammates with an excellent save and the commuter Ondráček was unable to reach the puck from the goal area.

In the 11th minute, Kohout threatened in his own weakness at Gríger’s penalty, but Brízgala was flawless again. At the beginning of the 18th minute, in a four-on-four game, the Knights got into a two-on-one outnumbering, Brodecki charged Dotchin and the productive home defender made it 2-0 without preparation.

Right at the beginning of the second period, Karlovy Vary played five on three for 40 seconds, Koblasa was a bomb from the circle close to the reduction, but Brízgal pushed the puck out with his shoulder. Then Kladno played a not-so-successful classic power play due to a bad rotation of the guests. However, in the closing 28th minute, the Kladno team forgot about Kružík under the pressure of the guests and the West Bohemians reduced the score. Beránek could have equalized before the break, but he did not beat Brízgala from close range.

At the beginning of the third act, Zikmund didn’t use a good chance to restore the two-goal lead, but only a minute later the home team celebrated a goal to make it 3:1. After Dotchin’s throw from the blue line, the free puck floated in front of Bláha and he easily cleared it into the empty net.

A complication for the home team was a foul by Zikmund not long after, who had to spend four minutes on the penalty bench due to a hit with a high stick. At the end of the 50th minute, Filip could have added insurance, but he narrowly missed from the circle. There was hope for the visitors in the 55th minute after Melk’s foul against the rules, but they did not reach a contact goal. Three and a half minutes before the end, they tried playing without a goalkeeper and Filip punished them.
