In 2023 there will be another World Cup, the women’s: see competition details

The Brazilian team debuts on July 24th, against the winner of playoff C, at 7am, at Sidney Football Stadium

The World Cup ended in Qatar, but in 2023 there will be a women’s competition between July and August, with 32 teams divided into eight groups.

See what is already set for the Women’s Football World Cup:

  • Australia and New Zealand will host the tournament, which will start on July 20, 2023 and end on August 20.
  • New Zealand and Norway will play the opening game of the World Cup at 4:00 am (Brasília time) on the starting date of the competition, at Eden Park Stadium.
  • Brazil is in group F alongside France, Jamaica and playoff winner C.
  • Paraguay, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea and Panama are the teams that are still fighting for a spot in Brazil’s group.

The United States are the current World Cup champions and will fight for their fifth title in history in 2023.

The World Cup will feature 32 teams for the first time in its history. The tournament is in its ninth edition organized by FIFA, the first being in 1991, with the participation of 12 teams.

Brazil, commanded by the Swedish coach Pia Sundhage, is looking for the unprecedented title of the World Cup. Striker Marta, voted the best player in the world six times, could be among those called up after returning from a knee injury, which made her miss part of the 2022 season.
