Girona come back against Nice in the last friendly of the stage in Estepona (2-1)

Girona continues to progress adequately with its eyes set on the resumption of the competition. Míchel’s team rallied this morning against OGC Nice (2-1) in the second and last test of the stage in Estepona. In an unconventional match, because it consisted of four parts of 30 minutes each with a total of two hours of play to give more minutes to the vast majority of players, the white-and-red team dominated the ninth-ranked Ligue 1 even if the goals did not arrive until the last period. The French took the lead through Brahimi in the 10th minute. The striker surprised Fuidias with a long-range shot that was difficult for the goalkeeper with a subsidiary card because the ball bounced right in front of him and went into the back of the net. Taty Castellanos made a good effort to equalize, but his goal was disallowed for a questionable offside. The Argentine also came very close to beating Boulhendi in the second period with a free-kick that went off the post.

The Girona players have been improving as the minutes passed, providing balance in midfield and achieving fluency in attack. Boulhendi popped up to frustrate Stuani and stop his shot after receiving an assist from Manju Vallejo. Neither could Ureña in a murri action. Yes Joel Rock, finally unstuck the marker. The Camprodon winger got rid of the Nice defense to equalize the friendly. Added to it Javi Hernandez to get the comeback and put an end to the great minutes he had today in Marbella. For his part, Gazzaniga blocked Sorensen’s header to return home with the best possible feelings. While a shot from Traoré crashed into the crossbar.

Reinier, Borja García and Yangel Herrera have been sidelined by Valery and Riquelme due to discomfort in the victory over Standard de Liege (1-0). He started, although David López was only able to play the first half hour of the game due to physical problems.
