Figueroa, after his golds in the Pan American Opens of Guayaquil and Bogotá, as well as for first place in the South American Games of Asunción, received the award for Best Male Judoka of the absolute category 2022while Corozo received the highest award in the women’s category for gold in the Bolivarian Games and silver in the South American Games.
The evening also had other distinctions for athletes in the categories Children, Minors, Cadets, Youth, as well as coaches and managers.
Roberto Ibanezpresident of the Ecuadorian Federation of this sport, praised the work of those selected and advanced some details for 2023.
“Due to the organizational success of the World Youth Judo Championships 2022, we received the responsibility of organizing the 2023 Pan American Super Cup that will be held in Guayaquil at the end of June and beginning of July”, Ibáñez specified.
