Naturalized defender Indonesian National team Jordi Amat mention AFF Cup like the European Cup or the Euros.
Jordi Amat’s naturalization was just completed last November. Since then, the transfer of Jordi’s citizenship from Spain to Indonesia has been completed.
The completion of Jordi’s naturalization greatly benefited the Indonesian national team. The 30-year-old defender can be played by the Garuda Squad in the 2022 AFF Cup.
In this biennial tournament, Jordi Amat made his debut for the Indonesian national team, to be precise against Cambodia in the first match of Group A at SUGBK.
The Indonesian national team itself still wants to chase the AFF Cup title which has been held since 1996. During that period the Red and White Team reached the final six times, but always ended up as the runner up.
“In the end, it was a great target,” said Jordi Amat quoted from Brand.
In the report, the player born in Catalonia also said that the AFF Cup was like the European Cup which was contested by England, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
“For us, participating in this tournament is like the European Cup itself and every match is watched by 250 million people. We have never won the tournament and we will try this edition,” said Jordi.
Together with the Indonesian National Team, Jordi Amat has many agendas. After the 2022 AFF Cup, Jordi could appear in FIFA Matchday and also the 2023 Asian Cup.
