Football: rape allegations against German professional Sports

Violent allegations against Saarbrücken professional Tobias Schwede (28)!

Now it’s clear why the left-back didn’t travel to the FCS training camp in Belek, Turkey.

A case against the Swede and a friend will run until shortly before Christmas at the Wiesbaden district court. A total of eight process days are scheduled.

The accusation: During his active time at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Schwede is said to have raped a 23-year-old from Mainz in January 2020 together with his buddy.

Swede denies the allegations, saying the threesome sex was consensual. The plaintiff, on the other hand, stated that she had made it clear at the time that she did not agree with the traffic.

Swede and the woman have known each other since October 2019 and were already intimate, as it became public in the first days of the negotiations.

Rape allegations against FCS star!

The left-back switched to Hansa Rostock in 2021 and came to FCS from there in the summer. At the time, the FCS knew nothing about the allegations that are now being made against the native of Bremen.

Coach Rüdiger Ziehl (45): “Tobias informed us about the procedure before the Halle game (November 12, ed.). It’s about an incident from his time in Wiesbaden 2020. We released him for the time of the trial. The presumption of innocence applies and we will await the end of the trial.”

The descriptions of the woman in court are depressing. So she felt “like in a trap”. When changing positions, the two men would have high-fived each other with a so-called “high five”.

Schwede and his defense vehemently contradicted this representation in court, saying that the young woman was the “driving force” for the threesome and spoke of “enjoyment” for the woman.

On Friday afternoon, Ziehl appeared in front of the team with the news. She also caused bewilderment among the players.

“It was very, very quiet when I told the team about it. Of course, it’s also a difficult matter for them,” says Ziehl.

Schwede himself is currently commuting between Bremen and Wiesbaden for the respective court dates, the team has no contact with him.

ZIEHL: “As I said, he is released for the duration of the process. For him it is not an easy and nice situation. So it doesn’t make sense for us that he trains with us.”

So far, Swede has made 13 appearances this season for FCS.

What threatens Sweden if convicted?

If found guilty, he could face between two and ten years in prison.
