In the past summer of transfers, FC Bayern’s sporting director was highly praised for his transfer policy, and earned an even greater reputation internationally with the transfers of Sadio Mané (30) and Matthijs de Ligt (23). Now the next transfer coup could be imminent.
The “Mirror” reports that the German record champions are working on a commitment from Marcus Rashford (25). Accordingly, the Munich team around Salihamidžić and coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) are closely monitoring the situation around the Manchester United striker. Because: Rashford has not yet extended his contract with the “Red Devils”, which expires next summer, for which he played as a youth.
In principle, a change would fit. Rashford is young, versatile – and relatively cheap due to his expiring contract. In addition, the discussion about the position of the center forward at Bayern flared up again and again in the first half of the season. After Robert Lewandowski (34) moved to FC Barcelona, the Munich team did not commit to an adequate replacement. With Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33) there is only one trained striker in the squad. A Rashford transfer seems unlikely at the moment.
Reason: The record champions are not the only club associated with the English international. Paris Saint-Germain in particular is said to be interested in Rashford. The striker is at the top of the French capital’s wish list, as confirmed by club boss Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (49). In order to realize the transfer, the sheiks are willing to dig deep into their pockets.
Allegedly, they lure Rashford with a salary of 990,000 euros – per week! The Englishman would thus earn more than 50 million euros per year. Bad for anyone interested: United can automatically extend the contract for a year and plan to do so. However, coach Erik ten Hag (52) wants to bind the striker in the long term. So far, however, no agreement has been reached with the player.
