Eduardo Galán Palla from A Coruña was distinguished with the National Award for the Best Judo Teacher. Galicia also won three other awards in the categories of Best Male Athlete (Fran Garrigós), Best Coach (Joaquín Ruiz) and Best Club (Famu de Frutos Vigo).
Eduardo Galán’s award is of special relevance for A Coruña, since he achieves it to a large extent due to the international projection that his methodology is having in school age, which has the Miguelito Trophy as a practical part.
Several European National Federations are launching their ‘Miguelito’, under the coordination of Galán, and the European Judo Union itself will include in its 2023 Congress a communication in which the Miguelito will be proposed, as a Reference event in the Promotion of Judo School.
Eduardo Galán is, in addition to technical director of the great annual judo event in A Coruña, co-author of the Book of ‘Discovery of training’, used nationwide as a reference in the teaching of children’s judo.
On the other hand, Madrid will host the absolute Spanish Championship tomorrow, Saturday, where the Galician Federation aspires to repeat the success of last year, when it finished in first place for Autonomies. In the capital of Spain, Galicia will compete with a total of 34 athletes, 17 girls and 17 boys.
