La Coruña Ines Poncela was one of the great winners of the Spanish Badminton Championship in the under 13 category that was held last weekend in Las Torres de Cotillas (Murcia). The player of the club of the sea closed the competition with two medals, one gold and one silver. In the doubles modality, Poncela teamed up with the Ibizan Maria Garcia. Together they reached the top of the podium after losing just one set in the entire tournament, against the Catalan couple in the semifinals. In the individual event, the woman from A Coruña reached the final without losing a single set and after winning all the matches with authority. In the fight for gold, she faced off against her doubles partner. She gave up the first game by a tight 21-18, won the second with the same result and lost in the final set.
