While the football world still has its eyes on the World Cup, an incident Down Under is causing a stir. In the city derby between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory, the game on Saturday has to be stopped after 20 minutes.
The reason: a space storm by the fans and a bloody confrontation.
Before the game, supporters of the clubs had planned to leave the stadium together in the 20th minute. They wanted to criticize the bosses of the Australian A-League.
Last week, the A-League announced that it would move the finals to Sydney for the next three years. Normally, the clubs with good performances have to qualify to host the final.

Both teams flee into the cabins. After just a few minutes of reflection, referee Alex King, who was attacked himself, finally stopped the game when Melbourne City was 1-0.
The A-League said in a statement: “The Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s match between Melbourne City FC and Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park has been postponed due to the incursion of Melbourne Victory fans onto the field and the resulting injuries to the goalkeeper of the Melbourne City FC, Tom Glover and match official Alex King abandoned. The Australian Professional League (APL) is coordinating with Football Australia (FA) on the impact of these events. A further explanation will follow.”
