BWF World Tour Finals Results: Ginting Wins Dramatically

Anthony Ginting managed to defeat Chou Tien Chen with a score of 21-14, 12-21, 21-19 in the 2022 BWF World Tour Finals.

In the first game, Ginting was more dominant in scoring. He could lead 6-4 which continued to be 10-6. Chou Tien Chen had leveled at 10-10 but Ginting snatched the next point to take a 11-10 lead at the interval.

After the interval, Chou Tien Chen turned to lead 13-12 by winning three consecutive points. Ginting then gave a good response by winning eight consecutive points which made him immediately win a game point.

Having failed at the first opportunity, Ginting took the first game on the next opportunity. 21-14 to Ginting in the first game.

Continuing to the second game, the game was completely mastered by Chou Tien Chen. Ginting had difficulty escaping Chou Tien Chen’s attack.

Chou Tien Chen led 11-5 at the interval in the second game and then won the second game with a score of 21-12. The match continued to a rubber game.

In the deciding game, a fierce battle was drawn from the first game. After drawing at 3-3, Ginting was able to appear effective and grabbed the next four points to lead 7-3.

But after that moment, Ginting lost his best touch and made a number of mistakes. Chou Tien Chen was able to win six consecutive points which made him 9-7 ahead.

Ginting was then again able to equalize but then Chou Tien Chen was able to narrowly lead 11-10 at the interval.

After the interval in the deciding game, Ginting was able to show signs of revival. He could lead 12-11 and continue to be 15-13. A number of Chou Tien Chen’s hits that hit the net were an advantage for Ginting.

Ginting then got the 16th point after Chou Tien Chen hit wide, 16-13. Chou Tien Chen’s hard hitting and Ginting’s cross netting that came out made the position change to 16-15, still for Ginting’s advantage.

The score then came back level at 16-16 after Chou Tien Chen won a shootout against Ginting.

Ginting was then able to break Chou Tien Chen’s trend of consecutive points with a backhand that the opponent could not return. Ginting was then able to get the 18th point after his netting outwitted Chou Tien Chen, 18-16.

Chou Tien Chen then took turns throwing good shots that tricked Ginting to get the 17th point.

Ginting replied by winning two consecutive points through a strike in front of the net and Chou Tien Chen’s mistake in hitting the shuttlecock off the field. Match point for Ginting at 20-17.

After failing on the first two occasions, Ginting’s netting ensured he won 21-19 in the deciding game. Ginting has also bagged two wins in the BWF World Tour Finals.
