Bruno Le Maire wants FIFA to investigate insults from Argentina against Mbappé and the France team

Asked by Sud Radio about the racist and provocative excesses observed in Argentina, the Minister of the Economy condemned these actions and asked FIFA to act.

The provocations made by some Argentinian fans against Kylian Mbappé during the celebrations in Buenos Aires should be investigated by FIFA, Bruno Le Maire has said. During the return from Argentina, a group of fans set fire to a fake coffin on which we could see a photo of Mbappé. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez also made headlines with a doll bearing Mbappé’s face during the Argentinian bus parade in the capital. Both images have gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, the French Football Federation and an anti-racism charity have filed complaints against those individuals who hurled racist insults at Mbappé and his teammates. Asked about his reaction to the insults from Argentina, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire told Sud Radio that the scenes were “unworthy” and openly asked FIFA to look into these events: “What is FIFA? Sport is about fair play,” said Le Maire. “It’s showing respect for others. It’s showing respect for those who lost. »
