Michael B. Jordan, an actor best known for his roles in the films Creed, from the Rocky series, and Black Panther, became a minority shareholder in Bournemouth, in the English Premier League. The information was announced this Tuesday by the club, which was sold for US$ 126 million to Black Knight Football Club, managed by American multimillionaire Bill Foley.

The club will be managed by Foley, but will also have a smaller group of investors, led by Michael B. Jordan. The actor’s performance will involve work in the “global marketing and internationalization of the club”, according to a statement issued by Cannae Holdings, an investment company of which Foley is president and which will have 50.1% of the company.

The American businessman, owner of the Vegas Golden Knights hockey team, arrives at Bournemouth to take the place of Maxim Demin, owner of the English club for the last 11 years. “Without the belief and financial support of Maxim and his family, AFC Bournemouth might well have ceased to exist. Maxim’s support and involvement has enabled the club to establish itself as a top-flight team. We would like to thank him “, commented the new representative.

Bill Foley takes over with immediate effect and will feature in the club’s next home match against Crystal Palace on 31 December. Bournemouth entered the break for the World Cup occupying 14th place in the Premier League, with 16 points, four wins, four draws and seven defeats.
