Botafogo shareholder, John Textor denies tabloid report on reduction of investments in Crystal Palace after the purchase of Lyon

Major shareholder of SAF do Botafogo, John Textor went to social networks this Saturday (12/17) to deny a report by the English tabloid “The Sun” that indicated a possible reduction in his investments in the Crystal Palace because of the purchase of Lyon.

The article, signed by journalist Alan Nixon, states that the English club needs “extra funds” to hire two or three reinforcements, in addition to the need to renew the contract of star Wilfried Zaha, a target of Chelsea and Arsenal for the European summer window. .

You need new sources, Mr. Nixon. Crystal Palace fans are smart enough to believe such nonsense. I remain as committed as I have always been as a Palace partner. One Eagle Football strong, with a family that extends from Brazil to Europe, only gives us more ways to help,” wrote Textor.

After a long process, Lyon said it will complete the sale to Eagle Football by next Monday (19). The company will have a 66.5% stake in the French club, with the possibility of expanding it to 88.5% in the future. Lyon will join Botafogo, Crystal Palace and RWD Molenbeek in Textor’s multi-club group.
