The four teams are standing, the hall is not yet!
Who will host the final tournament of the BBL Cup? One of the four semi-finalists will be the host, confirmed BBL Managing Director Stefan Holz on Sunday evening when the semi-finals were drawn. The tournament takes place on 18./19. February 2023 in Munich, Ludwigsburg or Oldenburg and not at a neutral venue. In any case, Berlin will not host the final, since all possible halls are already occupied this weekend.
The teams now have the chance to apply for the event. The final is always played in the city of a Final Four participant. According to Holz, the decision should be made “the week after next”. Double winner Alba Berlin, runner-up Bayern Munich, EWE Baskets Oldenburg and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg will be there. Find out who meets whom here!
On Monday, the Oldenburg announced that they will apply to host. The Lower Saxony are in the cup semi-finals for the third time in the club’s history. The venue would then be the EWE Arena.
