Bayern’s basketball players celebrate victory against Tel Aviv

Munich (dpa) – – FC Bayern Munich has moved closer to the playoff places in the basketball Euroleague.

The Bundesliga team won against Maccabi Tel Aviv from Israel with 98:89 (50:44) and with a record of 4:7 wins they were able to reduce the deficit in eighth place to two successes. Best Munich pitcher was Cassius Winston with 23 points.

After a long balanced game, Bayern were still two points ahead after the first quarter (26:24/10th minute). Coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team was at least able to pull away a little before the break: The American Winston led the hosts with 13 points to a 50:44 lead at the break.

The guests from the Mediterranean city stayed on after the change of sides thanks to an outstanding Lorenzo Brown (36 points in total), Bayern had the right answer with two successful long-range shots from national player Andreas Obst and went into the final round with a score of 73:67. The Trinchieri team never relinquished the lead and celebrated their fourth Euroleague win this season.

In the Euroleague, the Munich team will continue next Friday (8.30 p.m. / Magentasport) with the Spanish team Saski Baskonia SAD. On Sunday (6:00 p.m./Magentasport), Bayern will host medi Bayreuth in the quarter-finals of the cup.
