A Christoph Daum (69) never gives up!
At the end of October, the former Bundesliga cult coach went public with his cancer. On Christmas Eve he posted a message to his fans on Instagram.
Merry Christmas from Christoph Daum!
There he explains that he is on the right track. Daum: “At the same time, I would like to thank you for the countless words of encouragement and support over the past few months. These have given me strength and confidence, and have had an extremely positive effect on all treatments.”
He thanked the CIO Cologne team again and appealed to people to go to cancer screening in good time.
His former protégés also reacted to the post. Ex-Leverkusen striker Erik Meijer (53) commented: “Hey coach, I wish you a wonderful holiday season and the most important thing: health…” One can only agree with that.

From 1986 and 2011 Daum worked in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Köln, VfB Stuttgart (German champion 1992), Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. He also worked successfully in Turkey, Austria and Belgium. Until 2017 he coached the national team of Romania.
