Basketball, soccer and men’s volleyball seek the final at the Epade

Neuquén closed the third day of the 16th Epade Games to be held in Santa Cruz with five of the six selected from the team sports classified to the semifinals and several medals in swimming, judo and athletics. Basketball, soccer in both branches and men’s volleyball entered the medal zone and this Thursday they will go to the final.

Basketball and women’s soccer that defend the crown achieved in the last edition, after an initial setback, settled with the flow of the competition and got into the top four.

The women’s team led by Alejandro Sosa won the classic against Río Negro this morning at the Juan Bautista Rocha Gymnasium in Río Gallegos by 69-27 and this Thursday, on the same stage, they will look for their executioner at the start -and at which he defeated in the final last year -, to be back in contention for the gold medal.

Also, and after a difficult start, the soccer team led by Johana Alfaro also entered the semifinals after thrashing Tierra del Fuego 3-0 on the Sportivo Puerto Santa Cruz field. Tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. a place in the final.

Judo, at the Lucho Fernández de Río Gallegos club, Walter Soto Váldez won gold in the category over 81 kg; Bruno García achieved silver in up to 81 kg as well as Ehiar Mac Donel, in 73 kg. While Gabriela Mora obtained bronze in 70 kg.
