Basketball: Nba, Utah stops the run of New Orleans – Basketball

(ANSA) – LOS ANGELES, DECEMBER 14 – The streak of seven consecutive victories of New Orleans, leader of the Western Conference, beaten by the Jazz 121-100, was interrupted in Utah. Boston, leader in the East, instead reacted after two setbacks by overcoming the Lakers (122-118) after overtime. The New Orleans Pelicans were joined in the lead by the Memphis Grizzlies, the last to beat them on Nov. 26 before the streak.

Young New Orleans star Zion Williamson, 22, had 26 points. Utah Jazz, author of a great collective test with six players with more than ten points, widened the gap in the second and third quarters and returned to 8th place in the conference. Bottom-ranked Houston beat the Phoenix Suns 111-97, condemning them to a fifth straight loss.

In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics snatched victory at home from the Lakers in overtime. The crazy comeback of the Angels was not enough, separated by up to 20 points at the start of the third quarter before pushing the opponent into overtime, thanks to Anthony Davis (37 points) and LeBron James (33 points). The Milwaukee Bucks, defending champions and second behind the Celtics in the Eastern Conference, outscored the 2021 champion Golden State Warriors, 128-111. Giannis Antetokounmpo was the Bucks’ leading scorer with 30 points.

Stephen Curry leading scorer of the Warriors, but with only 20 points. (HANDLE).
