BASKETBALL – A tie between four teams for second place in the Higüey tournament

A four-way tie for second place in the standings characterizes the regular series in the 47th Higüey Superior Basketball Tournament, during the break for the Christmas Eve and Christmas festivities.

Savica at 4-2 is on top, followed by San Francisco, San José, Cambelén and Centro at 3-3. In last place is Antonio Guzmán (2-4), still with a chance to fight and close the qualifying scene for the semifinal series that has four places.

The Center defeated Antonio Guzmán 102-90, with 39 points and 11 rebounds from Luis Jacobo and 28 from Albert Fernández, and in reverse, Timmy Bonds and Yeison Feliz scored 27 and 21 points.

San Francisco achieved its third victory in a row by disposing of Savica, 94-90, with 38 points, 18 rebounds and six assists from Johnny Liriano, and by the defeated Leonte Espiritusantos, 25 points.
