Baseball players launch challenge to donate Christmas dinners

Ciudad Juárez.- Sharing a dinner with the most vulnerable families during the December festivities is the goal of the challenge launched today by the UACJ baseball team to their next weekend opponents.

Carlos Lozoya, teacher and coach, reported that currently the representative teams of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) are in a process of preparing for upcoming state competitions, so before Christmas they have called to challenge the opponents of their meetings to donate a dinner.

“The intention is to start forming a chain, to see if the teammates representing the university, or the league in which we participate, join and try to take what we have to share with the people who need it” , said coach Lozoya.

The initial challenge was launched to the Little Ceasers Tribe team, made up of former university players, against whom they will play this Sunday, December 11 at 9:30 in the morning, as part of the Paso del Norte Baseball League, in the Campo Imperial, located on Avenida Tecnológico.

They formalized the call through Facebook in the official account of the team “UACJ Baseball Team”, so it will be through social networks that invite other teams to raise their hands and commit to the challenge that seeks to bring a dinner on Christmas Eve for vulnerable families.

Lozoya said that they estimate to achieve at least 10 dinners with the teams that participate in the league, but they hope that there will be a response from teams from other sports.
