Lionel Messi (35) and Kylian Mbappé (24) met in the World Cup final. The end is known. They will now see each other again at PSG. Probably with mixed feelings. Also because the Argentines could not resist mockery and tips against Mbappé during their celebrations. Keeper Emiliano Martinez (30) in particular made fun of the French superstar, celebrating among other things with a doll in his hand on which Mbappé’s face was glued…

Paris coach Christophe Galtier spoke about what happened after the World Cup, but tried to remain neutral: “I’m not commenting on how to celebrate. I leave that to the Argentines. I don’t have to deal with the case of the Argentine goalkeeper.”

However, it was important for the PSG coach to emphasize: “It’s not Leo who made fun of Kylian, we have to let him out of it. Kylian had a very good attitude after losing. Added to this is his exemplary attitude before the award ceremony. He was very disappointed, but he was able to congratulate Leo with great class. This is very good for the club. Both respect each other.”

While Mbappé returned to Parisian training a few days after the final, Messi is still on vacation at the World Cup. He will return to France early next year. Brazil superstar Neymar has long since returned to PSG training after the disappointing quarter-finals with the Selecao. Galtier said of Neymar: “Physically everything is going according to plan, mentally he just wants to play. That’s a good sign.”

Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see how things continue with the noble offensive by PSG, the round of 16 opponents of German record champions FC Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Two superstars who fight back after World Cup disappointments and want to console themselves with sporting success. In addition, a superstar who, towards the end of his career, has once again advanced into new spheres and has crowned his passion for football with the biggest title, but has not had enough of successes and trophies.
