The news was given by the man from Madrid himself, who at first caused a good scare to his followers and cycling fans, with some images on social networks in which he appeared with half body bandaged. More than one made their hearts skip a beat.
However, Contador explains in a video the reason for these bandages: a minor operation to remove them a good number of fatty lumps known as lipomas, benign soft tissue tumors between the skin and muscles that are normally harmless. «Yesterday it was time to go through the workshop. She had a long time pending to remove some lipomas and those ‘ones’ have become more than a hundred! I will miss the bike for a while,” the ex-cyclist wrote on Instagram along with the video.
