On December 9-11, Kaliningrad hosted the Russian Judo Cup, the final stage of the Russian Judo Tour professional series. The tournament brought together more than 360 strongest men and women from 53 regions on the tatami at Yantarny Sports Palace.

Only learned from the representatives of the Tver region Antonina Shmeleva, who is part of the national team and was one of the main contenders to participate in the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics. She fought in the weight class up to 78 kg and, after winning four fights, took first place in the final protocol. In the last fight, Antonina defeated the winner of the Russian championship among juniors Lyubov Orlova, representing the Ural Federal District, by holding.

At the awards ceremony, the judoka from Tver received a gold medal and a cup for first place, as well as a certificate worth 100,000 rubles.
