The Youth and Sports Service of the Provincial Delegation of Education, Culture and Sports of Ciudad Real and the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, within the framework of the Somos Deporte 3-18 agreement, in the line of collaboration, which year after year since the course 2015-2016, these two institutions have been carrying out to bring and promote sports practice to educational centers and for free, they start a new Badminton initiation project.
This project has begun its piloting at the IES Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra in Alcázar de San Juan, which, through the Department of Physical Education, and within its programming, in a first phase, develops a Didactic Unit and has subsequently been established on schedule school (recesses) one day a week for the implementation of this sport where the students of the Center (402 of ESO and 187 of Baccalaureate) will be able to practice the knowledge acquired, become familiar with the materials, regulations and basic badminton hits and in a second phase, internal recreational concentrations-competitions will be created where the educational nature will prevail, although there will also be a competitive component, which will allow them to integrate and thus be able to participate in the Castilla-La Mancha Regional School Sports Championship.
The Physical-Sports Promotion Line provides schoolchildren with great physical and social benefits, as well as the transmission of habits, attitudes and values. For the start of this project, the Provincial Council has provided itself with 20 rackets and 4 boxes of shuttlecocks.
